Dar Tassa Retreat

Terms & Conditions

These terms cover how we take bookings, what happens if plans change, how we look after your personal information, and where our responsibility begins and ends. They are written to be read, not to be hidden.

1. Who we are

Dar Tassa Mountains Retreat is a small family-run guest house and activity host in Tassa Ouirgane, Al Haouz province, Morocco, at around 1,300 m in the High Atlas. These terms apply to every stay, meal, guided walk, workshop and holistic session we host, and to any enquiry or booking request made through this website, by WhatsApp (+212 661 443 390) or by email (Dartassa@gmail.com).

By sending an enquiry or booking request, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms and our Health & Wellness Disclaimer.

2. Enquiries and bookings

Requests sent through this website are enquiries, not confirmed bookings. Your reservation exists only once we have replied in writing (email or WhatsApp) confirming your dates, the number of guests, the rooms or activities and the agreed price.

Prices shown on the site are per person or per room as indicated, in Moroccan dirhams (MAD/DH), and may change until your booking is confirmed. Activity places are limited; where a session is full we will offer you an alternative date.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you give us — names, dates, arrival time, guest numbers, dietary needs and any health condition relevant to the activities you have chosen.

3. Payment and deposits

We take no payment through this website. Depending on the length and season of your stay we may ask for a deposit to hold your dates; the balance is settled on site in cash (dirhams) or by bank transfer arranged in advance.

Prices include the services described at the time of confirmation. Unless stated otherwise, transport to and from Dar Tassa, travel insurance, personal expenses and gratuities are not included.

4. Changes and cancellations

Please tell us as early as you can if your plans change; we are a small house and an empty room in the mountains cannot be resold at short notice. Unless we have agreed different terms in writing with you: cancellations made more than 14 days before arrival are refunded in full, less any bank charges; between 14 and 7 days, half of the total is due; within 7 days of arrival, or in the case of a no-show or early departure, the full amount is due.

Individual activities and holistic sessions may be cancelled or moved free of charge up to 48 hours before the agreed time. Within 48 hours the session is charged in full, since the practitioner and produce have already been reserved for you.

We may have to change or cancel an activity for reasons of safety, weather, road conditions, illness or events beyond our control (force majeure). In that case we will offer you an alternative date, a replacement activity of similar value, or a full refund of that activity. We are not liable for other costs you may have incurred, such as flights or transfers — this is why we ask every guest to hold travel insurance.

5. Staying with us

Check-in is normally from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00; we are flexible where we can be, so simply ask. Dar Tassa is a quiet mountain house shared with other guests and with our family: we ask for calm after 22:00, no smoking indoors, and respect for the village, its people and its customs.

Children are welcome and remain under the supervision of their parents or guardians at all times, particularly on the terraces, stairs, around the wood-fired oven and on mountain paths. Pets only by prior agreement.

Guests are responsible for any damage they cause to the house, its furniture or its grounds. Please tell us about food allergies in advance: we cook in a small mountain kitchen and cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

6. Health, safety and liability

Walks, workshops and holistic sessions are taken voluntarily and at your own risk. Our holistic practices are for personal growth and are not a substitute for medical or psychiatric care. Full details are set out in our Health & Wellness Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

We strongly recommend valid travel and medical insurance covering mountain activities. To the fullest extent permitted by Moroccan law, Dar Tassa, its owners, staff and facilitators accept no liability for injury, illness, loss, theft or damage arising from your stay or from voluntary participation in our activities, except where caused by our own negligence. We are not responsible for valuables left unattended.

7. Privacy and your personal data

We collect only what we need to answer you and host you well: your name, email address, telephone number, dates, number of guests, and anything you choose to tell us about dietary needs, accessibility or health. Newsletter signups store your email address and your confirmation of consent.

This information is used only to reply to your enquiry, manage your booking and — if you asked for it — send you occasional news. We never sell or rent your details, and we share them with no one beyond the technical services that deliver our website and emails on our behalf.

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle your booking and our accounts; newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from any newsletter email. You may ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you — simply write to Dartassa@gmail.com.

Our site uses only the cookies and local storage needed to remember your language choice and to keep the site working. We do not run advertising trackers.

8. Photographs and content

All text, photographs and brochures on this site belong to Dar Tassa or are used with permission, and may not be reproduced commercially without our written agreement. We occasionally photograph life at the house; if you would prefer not to appear in any photograph we publish, just tell us and we will respect it.

9. Law, complaints and changes

These terms are governed by Moroccan law, and any dispute falls to the competent courts of Marrakech. If something is not right during your stay, please tell us at once — almost everything can be put right on the spot, and we would always rather hear it from you than read it later.

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here at the moment of your booking is the one that applies to it.
